Weekly Teaching Practice Report              ( 23/09/2024 - 27/09/2024) "Education is the key to unlocking the world." - Oprah Winfrey  As the vibrant festivities of Onam came to an end, returning to school felt both refreshing and overwhelming. After a ten-day vacation, a sense of laziness lingered in the students' behavior. While some took time to settle back into routine, others were eager to share their holiday experiences. As they excitedly recounted their memorable moments, I balanced listening with my teaching responsibilities. One of our primary tasks upon returning was evaluating the students' answer sheets from their assessments. Sitting at our desks, we meticulously reviewed each paper, assessing their progress before the break. It was gratifying to see improvements in some areas, while others revealed the need for further guidance. Once the evaluations were complete, we prepared to return the papers, feeling both anticipation and respo...

Weekly Teaching Practice report               (09/09/24 - 13/09/24) “The well-educated mind will always have more questions than answers.” – Helen Keller . As the week began, we wrapped up the model exams, marking the end of a rigorous academic phase. With no exam duties this week, we returned to college, shifting our focus back to our coursework and responsibilities. Amidst all this, the vibrant festival of Onam brought a much-needed break from the academic routine. This celebration allowed us to reconnect with our cultural heritage, indulge in festive delicacies, and participate in cherished traditions. Such moments are essential, offering a refreshing balance to the intensity of academic life. With the exams behind us, the next task is to collect and review students' answer scripts. This crucial process helps in assessing their performance, identifying areas of strength, and addressing any learning gaps. Providing constructive feedback is...

Weekly Teaching Practice Report                  02/09/2024 - 06/09/2024               It was my fifth week in the school as a trainee with more experiences. The Onam examination isn't far away; therefore, a last-minute revision marathon was held to refresh their memories. Since there are only three test halls, exam duty was distributed among the teacher trainees on different days. I have duty on the second day of exam, Tuesday ( 03/09/2024). It was my first shift as an invigilator for the exam. I arrived at the exam Hall early and prepared for the exam.              I began my duties immediately as the first bell rang, which included checking attendance, arranging the students according to their roll numbers and handing out question papers and answer sheets. Students began writing the exam as the second bell rang. I...

Education is not the filling of a pot but the lighting of a fire." —W.B. Yeats This was the fourth week, and with examinations approaching, it turned out to be a rather hectic one as everyone was focused on completing the syllabus. Due to public holidays, there weren’t many working days this week, but I managed to get three days of class. During this time, I successfully completed the portions for the 8th standard. I continued teaching the same chapter, and the pupils remained highly active and eager to engage with the story. To make the lessons more effective, I incorporated various activities for teaching grammar, and the students responded enthusiastically to the scaffolding questions. Their active participation gave me a deep sense of satisfaction. As usual, the teacher trainees were assigned duties for organizing the IT Quiz and the Janayugam Sahapadi Quiz.
